"The
Beauty of Brazilian Laelias"
Presentation by Fred Shull
Fred’s
interest with orchids began as a simple high school project.
After some success and a few failures, he wanted to learn more
and more about these rare and beautiful plants. It’s been
over 40 years and he is still in love with the Brazilian
Laelias.
An
AOS Judge for over 15 years, Fred has also served as Vice
President and President of the San Francisco Orchid Society.
He also supports numerous societies as liaison and introduced
many excellent speakers to these societies.
Fred
loves to travel and has been fortunate to view many orchids
growing in their native environment particularly in Brazil and
Mexico.
He attended many World Orchid Conferences. Fred grows a
variety of genera
in the Orchid Family with special interest in the Cattleya
alliance.
Fred
will take us through a 45 minute program that will include
culture, slides ending with a question and answer session.
Raffle
table will be provided by Fred Shull. He will also bring
plants for sale.
No
host dinner will be at Pasta Pomodoro at 5:30 p.m. in down
town Pleasant Hill.

Sue by visiting Fordyce Orchids for the last time (or times!).
Monthly
Program: ICU
During the
general meetings each month, we have a new program called
the ICU - Doctor on Duty. During the brake session (only
15 minutes) while most of you will be enjoying the
refreshments, one can bring in a plant to have it looked at by
the ICU Doctor on duty. Remember to place the plant you bring
in into a clear plastic container. Please do not bring
in more than one plant to each meeting.
