"MINIATURES: Good Things Come In
Small Packages."
Cordelia
Head is one of two female owners of
J&L Orchids. J&L Orchids has a
large selection of unusual species and
miniature orchids. She has traveled
extensively throughout Central and South
America in search of orchids. As well as
lecturing all over the world including
the most recent World Orchid Conference
in Malaysia. An active member of the AOS
Conservation Committee, the IUCN Orchid
Specialist Group and the International
Orchid Committee of the WOC, she is also
an AOS judge. She will be talking about
miniature orchids, showing a wide range
of interesting and unusual plants. Next
month we will have a round robin with
fellow members Bernice Lindner, Barbara
Tague, and Sue Fordyce. Come learn how
to mount an orchid, grow Den.
cuthbertsonii in the East Bay, and
arrange orchids in baskets. Participants
will be able to take home their own
mounted orchid. See you there.

In
addition to our talks, slide shows and
culture sessions, there are other
benefits to coming to our
meetings. We typically have plants
for sale as shown in the upper left
picture, a raffle table, typically
provided by the speaker, this month it
was a table of Disas. And
finally I think we probably have the
best food of all the societies in the
area! |
